Muggles Market Too Spotlight: Shawn Durington!

Welcome to our Muggles Market Too Spotlights for 2020! This Muggles Market Too is presented to you as part of SAGA, the professional development conference for genre fiction writers.

Today, we are delighted to announce new artisan Shawn Durington! Shawn will be bringing us his unique puppets, coasters, bookmarks, prints, art, and books which he created. Shawn currently resides in Greenville, North Carolina, but grew up in Portsmouth, Virginia. As a child, he enjoyed doodling and scribbling whenever he should have been paying attention in class. He received a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts Art Education and a Bachelor’s in Fine Art Studio Art from East Carolina University in 2006, where he studied Printmaking and Textiles. After teaching middle school art for four years, he decided it was time to return to school for his master’s degree. In 2013, he earned a Master’s in Fine Arts in Animation and Visual Effects, studying in the area of Visual Development from Academy of Art University.  His book ‘Drawing Monsters with Melvin and Me’ went into a second printing in summer of 2018. He is currently creating his next drawing book ‘Drawing Galactic Heroes and Villians with Melvin and Me’. Check out all of these cool examples!

If you forget, it’s okay – we’ll also accept cash donations ($2 per person suggested). Everyone who donates will automatically be entered in to our hourly prize drawings.
